Trading dashboard and backend services for an AI crypto trading platform.

The problem

Blackalgo is an AI platform for automated BTC and ETH trading: self-optimising strategies, copy-trading with adjustable risk, tiered risk modes, and a dashboard that has to show live PnL, trade execution and signal performance without lag. The founder, who we'd already worked with for a year on Qoves, needed difficult full-stack work done quickly and reliably.

What we built

Two fixed engagements in autumn 2023, around 150 hours in total, focused on the parts that were hardest to get right:

Real-time dashboard. React and Redux front end consuming live trade data over WebSocket streams, with rate-limiting and queue prioritisation so the UI stays responsive under bursts of exchange data.

Backend services. Node.js and Express services on MySQL, structured so high-frequency transaction handling could scale out, with Stripe for subscription tiers and trading-credit purchases.

Security posture. A non-custodial architecture: users keep control of their funds; the platform holds strategy and signals, not assets.

Results

Both contracts closed on time and rated 5.0, with the client's summary being the one we'd put on a business card: "our go-to for getting difficult work done." Blackalgo is the smaller sibling of the Qoves engagement and a good example of the Basic MVP shape: tight scope, fixed price, shipped in weeks.
